Thanks, all, for the refresher course!  Since this "symptom" hasn't appeared
here before, I guess I'll watch for awhile today, then reboot it anyway
since we're going into a weekend.  

Thanks too, Lloyd, for your kind offer.  I don't think we'll need to take
you up on it but we'll certainly keep it in mind if the thing starts to get
really squirrelly.

Mike,

I have a couple of receivers on large dishes that start after a reboot with
EbNo's around 12 then climb to >14 over time and they work fine.

On the rare occasion when those receivers start to misbehave (funny audio
dropouts or whatever) then we pull the plug and they normally go back to
working 100% again.
