Yeah, we've used ACXtractor (ripping software) for years
(www.marvintec.com). Depending on the speed of your drive, you'll get
the type of results Willie is talking about. Usually, we rip from a DVD
drive because the CDROM drive in the particular PC we use for this work
is slower than the DVD drive in it. In the unusual occasion when a track
doesn't "rip" then your Denon/Stanton/Sony or Cheap Charlie (Sorry
